2009 couldn’t have been more eventful! As the new year is coming in, I put together a sort of…wrap up/recap/favorite list/highlight reel. Call it what you want. I asked some friends what they loved about Blow Up this year, and this is what I got.
2009 Highlight Reel:
1. Summer 09 – This year’s summer was insane. The month of August in particular. Rapture Djays, Treasure Fingers, and then Designer Drugs (I know…crazy right?). The night with Designer Drugs was the hottest/sweatiest party hands down. People waiting to stand next to the fan, and asking “Hey did you just get out of the shower too?!”
2. Nights of, “What the fuck?” – There were plenty this year. Although 9/18/09 with Le Castle Vania is one for the high light reel. Even if the only thing I can remember is stepping outside of the rickshaw when the party ended. Usually if you can’t remember a thing, it was most likely a night to put in the record books. Thanks for a wild night LCV.
3. Sexy Results – Can you resist thinking of or committing sexual acts while you’re here? Neither can I. And we love it. 2009, you got nasty!

4. “Show me love!” – Im sure everyone would agree, you can never get tired of this song. You can’t go wrong dropping this track. The track seems to be dropped at least once every night, and there’s nothing wrong with that! Once you hear that synth drop, the screams follow right after. No one is afraid to sing along…you all now the words!
5. And it don’t stop – After each party, Fell St. turns into a little playground for the party people who don’t want the night to end. Taking their time as they linger and share conversations, they refuse to go home!
6. Cake in the club! – It was Ava’s birthday and Micah wanted to bake her a cake. We figured being the sweet heart that she is, she deserved it. We wondered if we would even be able to bring a cake into a club, turns out that it was no problem. So yeah, we had us some damn cake at Blow Up!
7. “Is that a piano?” – Apparently everybody loves the piano. Not to play on, but to dance on. I always wondered what it was doing there…guess it’s just a hot spot for the hotties.
8. Friday the 13th – Just a personal favorite of mine. Who says this day is bad luck? Every time there’s a party on Friday the 13th something great happens to me. It all started with the Valentine’s Day Massacre of 09. My friend and I got lucky and managed to skip the massive line and join the lovely party.
9. Smoke Room – Unfortunately for those marked by the X we cant go outside to have a smoke. But considering the smoke room turns out to be a lot of fun, it’s not so bad. You’ll have the funnest conversations and meet great people. You may or may not remember their names, but either way, you’ll have a blast together!
10. The Party People – Aside from those spontaneous engagements with people you encounter, it’s amazing how you can actually develop great friendships. 2009 was a great year. A lot of friends were made just from attending a Blow Up party. The party, the crew, and the people were simply amazing.
So let’s hear it for Blow Up and 2009! Its been wonderful. Be sure to be there to kick off the new year January 8th.
