If you haven’t pick up your copy of this week’s San Francisco Bay Guardian yet (you better), none other than our very own Jeffrey Paradise and Ava Berlin are on the cover!, and looking mighty fine as usual. In the paper’s feature editorial, “Parties without borders: In the age of social media, San Francisco’s wildest clubs are taking over the world,” Jeffrey and Ava talk about the important role the Internet has played in bringing BLOW UP and the San Francisco party scene to an international platform, being one of the first clubs to “[post] shareable party photos and slickly edited vids.” I love that they mention their particularity when it comes to the venues and people they choose to work with; because for me, I think the quality of every one of their events is what has brought them so much success. Like I’ve said before, I know these two have a lot more in store for us, and for the world, so it’ll really only be time before BLOW UP really does take over.
Now if your night at the BLOW UP REUNION two months ago was anything like mine was, reuniting with old friends and reminiscing about BLOW UP in its yesteryears while trying to get acquainted with its new location—not to mention being overwhelmed with how large its following has grown since it got shut down—you took your last steps on that red carpet before going home, tow-up, but not as sweaty as usual (we can thank the huge outdoor patio for that one), and thought to yourself that there was no way in clubbing Hell that the CRAY night you just experienced could be your very last party with BLOW UP. AND IT’S NOT!
I know by this time it’s old news, but just another reason to get excited y’all! For those of you who missed it, I bring you the BLOW UP SF SUMMER CONCERT SERIES:
