We are so sorry to announce that BLOW UP is not happening tonight, for the foreseeable future, and possibly ever again. Jeffrey + Ava have exhausted themselves trying to find a suitable location to hold BLOW UP and have come up empty handed.
Thank you so much to the countless people that banded together and searched high and low with us. There were a few offers, but none that were 18+ that we felt were safe for us to let loose and enjoy ourselves like we always do at BLOW UP.
The Rickshaw Stop is having some issues with The Law. They now have to limit the number of people inside the Rickshaw to less than HALF of what the BLOW UP crowd is and they have to avoid having a line out front. The venue is still open, but we understand most nights will be 21+ and they will have to be very small parties compared to BLOW UP.
This is very sad day for us. Richie Panic and Jeffrey Paradise have DJed at every single BLOW UP for what would be 5 years next month. We really don’t know what we are going to do.
BLOW UP is over. We are wishing you a sad goodbye today.
xox,
Jeffrey Paradise + Ava Berlin + Richie Panic

No way!! We’ve been hitting up our contacts trying to see if we could help come up with something…wish it could have worked out.

Imagine that – doing too good of job. It won’t be long before someone in high or low places that sorts you out. Good works always find their audience.

I am only 17, but my older friends have been telling me how amazing Blowup is forever. I have been waiting to go for months now, and my 18th birthday is next week. WHY MUST IT CLOSE TODAY??? EXACTLY ONE WEEK BEFORE MY OPPORTUNITY TO REVEL IN ITS LEGENDARY BEAUTY?!?!?!?!?!
please come back….

I am crying right now.
I am only 17 but some of my older friends have been to blowup many times and told me of its amazing and wondrous beauty. i love electronic music and i have spent hours on end watching the highly entertaining videos on the blowup sf myspace, waiting eagerly for my time to come that i could enter the dancefloor legally.
next week is my 18th birthday. my friends and i had planned to go to blowup on the 26th for months now to celebrate.
WHY MUST IT SHUT DOWN THE WEEK BEFORE???
please come back….is there any way our dreams can be fulfilled?
