Rony’s Photobooth at 5 Year

rony%2527s photobooth Pictures, Images and Photos
Rony Alwin, a young photographer out of Los Angeles, over the course of the last three years has already managed to become quite renown for his talents. It’s quite impressive how what started as just an idea of placing a photo studio at an event turned into something so great. Rony has much love and dedication to his work and still keeps having fun while interacting with people and turning out tons and tons quality pictures.

Rony captures epic amounts of action and dramatic presence in all his photographs, all while including his own elegantly creative flare of spontaneity. The amount of vibrance in Rony‘s photographs is remarkable and truly gives them a life of their own .

His reputation has led him to work for names like Coachella, Kswiss, Control, and many, many more. Rony’s work has taken him to a plethora fashion and dj events nationwide. I’m sure we can expect to see him shooting it up at all the hottest up-and-coming events.

“Parties now, without photography, it’s like it didn’t happen.”, says Rony, which I am for sure going to have to agree with.

Summer Video #1

Look at all the fun we had last month!

Hi everyone, we’ve all been working together to make the 5 Year Anniversary something really really special! Chris Mags and Dylan Mount have been writing up some awesome blog posts on here, to give everyone some cool insider info about what to expect this month!!! So go give them some feedback on their facebook (linked above)!

Every week we’ve been meeting with the staff at Kelly’s Mission Rock to help work out the kinks, for the most part things have been going great, and we do know there have been some issues with the security staff being jerks. First and foremost, we need everyone to be nice and courteous to each other and to the staff, please please please understand that… also expect to be treated with courtesy and respect in return, I can assure you we’ve gone above and beyond to correct this problem.

Please email me personally here: JefferyParadise [at] gmail [dot] com if you have any questions, comments, complaints, ideas, etc about how we can make this work better for our friends! I, along with everyone on the Blow Up + Kelly’s staff are committed to making this work so that everyone can be safe and have fun!

This Saturday, expect to be greeted at the door by Ava Berlin, Sunny and Kelli, plus all of our wonderful pals on the Host Committee (full post on the Host Committee coming soon).

Miss Monistat will be presiding as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening! along with all the DJs, Photographers and Videographers mentioned in other posts!

We’re all gunna celebrate in style together and have some serious fun!!!!

See you on the dancefloor,
Jeffrey Paradise

Mar Bar is coming from NYC …

Hey, hey: BLOW UP is already gearing up for our 5 year anniversary party … we’ll be welcoming New York videographer Mar Bar (a.k.a. Marisol) to capture the fun this round. Marisol has done a lot of great video work for Germs NYC before it went under (among other things), so I know for a fact she parties with the best of them … Lately she’s been doing tons of vid and design stuff for things like Dexter, Flava Flav, punkdafunk … you name it. No idea what she’ll come up with for her BLOW UP party video, but I’m ready to rock it. Get ready to go down in BLOW UP posterity, Mar Bar-style … Look Sharp

xox,
Jeffrey

Dj Skeet Skeet and Rony’s Photobooth

The last time Skeet Skeet and Rony’s Photobooth came out to play was definitely a night for the books! Personally, it was one of the greatest times I’ve had at Blow Up SF. In fact I remember taking a lady friend there for the first time, and as the night ended we walked down Fell St. drenched in sweat, and as she gasped for air she yelled, “Oh my god, I’ve been to a lot of clubs, but none of them are that fun! There’s just so much going on, it’s so fucking crazy!!” Her reaction from the party with Dj Skeet Skeet was priceless! (As is everyone’s after their first time here)

Larissabot’s video from the last party with Skeet Skeet

The night was full of (or should we say overpacked with) smiles, sweat, hugs, kisses, dancing, and alcohol… and who knows what else? All we know for sure is that the team of Dj Skeet Skeet and Rony’s Photobooth guarantee great fucking times. They’re quite possibly the coolest people you can meet at a party, which is why we are SO STOKED to have them with us to celebrate the 5 Year Anniversary!! As hard as it is to believe that the last party with them can be topped, it probably will happen on July 10th! This is going to be a night of epic proportions. And we wouldn’t have it any other way!!

Let’s celebrate 5 years together!! Check out videos from previous anniversary parties, and you’ll see everyone goes ALL OUT! So please be ready to party to the fullest, and if you’re not…stay home!

Get down with Dj Skeet Skeet and look sharp for when you get your photos taken by Rony’s Photobooth! And prepare for much more surprises…it’s a celebration!

Flashback! – take a look at Rony’s Photobooth from the last party with Skeet Skeet here!

PANCE PARTY INTERVIEW

We are very excited to have San Francisco up and comers Pance Party at The BLOW UP 5 Year Anniversary! Expect big things from them in the coming months as their new EP drops! Our “correspondent” Dylan Mount caught up with them over email to find out the details about what’s going on with them and their music – check it out!

BLOW UP: What was it like working with Benny Benassi?

Swardy: When we released our first EP, “Kim Jong Thrill”, we considered it a complete and total success after all four tracks charted so well. Benassi picking up on it and subsequently asking for a remix was some serious icing… I mean, the guy practically invented electro.
Andy: This may sound strange, but the most surprising thing about the whole project was how down to earth and professional Benny & Co. were. The world needs more Benny Benassis.

Benny Benassi – Spaceship (Pance Party remix) by Pance Party

BLOW UP: If you could change one thing about the current scene, what would it be and why?

A: Siriusmo needs to perform live!
S: Dance music is melodies, harmonies, and basslines. Some of this Dutch Squeaker shit leaves me wanting…

B: What are some of your biggest influences?

A: Pance Party started as a Nickelback cover band…. so…. yeah.
S: Seriously, though: Dada Life, Wolfgang Gartner, Felix Cartal, and DIM.

B: What’s the largest audience you’ve performed for and how was it?

S: That would have to be the Yale — Harvard Ball: A thousand plus undergrads in the Yale commons (which looks exactly like the Harry Potter Dining Hall, only bigger and more ridiculous). We wrote this track the morning of, with samples calling out each school back and forth (and inadvertently setting them against each other). Was definitely the closest we’ve come to inciting a riot.

B: What are some things you do to prepare yourselves before going on stage?

S: Pilsner [beer]… BUT, also get to the show early. If you look closely you’ll find us in the muck gettin down with the opener. Best way to make sure you know what a crowd likes is to bump uglies with ‘em.
A: Seagram’s gin and diet Rockstar…

B: What is the biggest motivating factor for creating your music?

S: Watching other DJs spin your tracks. Its easy to get psyched about blog hype, or Beatport charts — but nothing really shakes my shalayleigh like seeing someone you idolize play your tunes.
A: Because this is how we’re all going to get filthy rich, right? Oh, and this:

B: What do you like most about your job?

A: Being your own boss and getting to do everything for the band, from art to tech stuff I can’t think of anything I’d rather do.
S: Travel! The day we started getting booked outside the US was the day these outrageous studio hours became worthwhile.

Also, forgot to mention:

Pance Party is three people: Eric, Andy, and Swardy. Sadly Eric wasn’t around to finish up the email with us, so we’ve sent the completed interview without him.

BLOW UP – 5 Years in the Club

4 Year Party Video

3 Year Party Video

2 Year Party Video

There’s no video from the 1st Year party (sadly)… the videos demonstrate we all go very very large for BLOW UP anniversaries! I’m personally so fucking exxxcited about this year!!! 5 Years of new music, new friends, new experiences, and all kinds of trouble we’ve gotten into together!!!

So, please, don’t come out unless you are ready to join the party with us and go BIG BIG BIG!!! no holding back!!! let’s show DJ Skeet Skeet how we like to party!

+ there will be some mad famous photographers and videographers on hand to capture all the magic and we’ll all get to show our friends in other citys how much we rule and they suck [hehe]

- in all seriousness, I’m so excited and feel so lucky to have been a part of something so fun for such a long time, I have hardly done anything for 5 years… wtf, so the fact that Blow Up has been in the club for 5 year (not to mention all the undergrounds before it officially launched).

LET’S FUCKING PARTY TOGETHER!!!
