BLOW UP

Let me just get straight to the point. Porter Robinson makes a fantastic dance music and is a great addition to Blow Up’s October lineup! Check this out…. he’s a senior in high school! It’s rare to find young artists that carry a lot of knowledge in their craft, and Robinson just kills it. At just the age of 18 he’s established himself in a league of the best electro/dance artists out there right now.

With his blend of electro, progressive house, and just a hint of dubstep, Porter is making crowds explode all over the world! His hit single “Say My Name” has been played by some of the best djs and producers out there right now. From Paul Van Dyk, David Guetta, Major Lazer, and even Tommy Lee of all people!

Blow Up has a tradition to uphold, a tradition of throwing the crazy Halloween parties imaginable. Ghouls Gone Wild! We need your help to make this one the craziest party ever!!! In the past years, the parties have been so wild, crazy, sexy, over the top costumes that we had to limit the number of people who could enter; with all the amazing decorations and costumes and Halloween themed dance music… let’s just say things got a little out of hand.

This year we are going even bigger and will be decorating the entire club at Kelly’s Mission Rock! We are still finalizing themes for the decorations, but be prepared for awesomeness!

In addition to all the craziness we will be having a costume contest and the winner will win $100 cash money! More details will be coming soon.

Blow Up, we’ve got ourselves a lucky date come Back to School Night. And by that I mean this really cool DJ. San Francisco native, Jordan Atkins-Loria, is Lucky Date. Steady yet very quickly, Jordan has made a name for himself in the electro community. I mean you can’t go wrong with some good ol electro right? If you love electro as much as I think you do, trust, you will love this guys work.

Lucky Date has a shit load of awesome remixes on his resume. Remixing artists from Crystal Castles, to Tiga, VHS or BETA, Treasure Fingers, M.I.A, and Wolfgang Gartner, he delivers some top notch tracks. Wanna know how we can tell Jordan hails from San Francisco? He has even whipped up some dope mixes of Bay Area’s E-40 and Mistah F.A.B!

Although he is known for his dirty electro, Jordan doesn’t limit himself. He also produces some Progressive House, Dutch House, and Dubstep music. Not to mention…he works as a synth engineer, supplying sounds for producers like David Guetta!

Jordan has been on fire keeping his work moving, and he doesn’t seem to show signs of stopping. Which is why it’s guaranteed to go down once he spins Back to School Night! I’m sure all the school girls will be going bananas for his set. Lucky Date will definitely give you a great experience on the dance floor. Being the cool guy that he is, Jordan has provided us with some hot shit to ready ourselves for the exam on the dance floor come Saturday night! Check it…

Hello Hello! Are we all ready to celebrate Back to School Night?! So we’ve gotten through the first few weeks of school, and I’m sure I’m not the only one sitting in class with Blow Up withdrawals. I know, it’s tough. So! This Saturday at Blow Up, we’re looking to reinforce the positive things about school. Think about it…the eye candy of all those sexy school girls, for you girls – all the hottie boys, the prepped up nerds, or my personal favorite; that HOT teacher you can’t stop day dreaming about in class.

Most importantly, all the parties and bands you go see over the weekend. Pretty much everything aside from all the books and work. With that said, be ready for the coolest band to hit this campus, the Tenderlions!

San Francisco’s very own Tenderlions are coming back once again for this special night. Without a doubt, these guys have got to be one of your favorite local acts to see. Why wouldn’t they be? John and Evan let their talent be known whenever they perform. Their combination of live programing and live percussion is something that should be experienced at every event out there! And if you can, try to get a spot front and center, so you can dance your ass off to their amazing sounds…

They have opened for several artists from the likes of the Bloody Beetroots, Kid Sister, Simian Mobile Disco, Classixx, The Twelves, and Steve Aoki. Keep in mind that they also produce some incredible tracks. Which brings us to our next topic. This saturday will be a special night as we host their record release party!! Through German label Television Rocks, Tenderlions will be releasing their EP entitled “IN 3D” complete with all original tracks!! If you’ve seen them perform, then you know how amazing their live sets are. Now…imagine how it will be with them performing their new releases of original work!! John and Evan have some special surprises in store for us, so be ready. You’d be a fool to miss it!!
