Since BLOW UP’s abrupt demise, we tried our hardest to find a suitable new location, due to the state of club life in SF + the lack of cool spaces that can accommodate our needs, we came up short.
The outpouring of love has been inspiring, we literally received a message from the Mayor’s Office and met with his people at City Hall. [How fucking crazy is that?]
We needed a place where the party could be just as wild, just a fun, just as carefree as it was before and, with help, finally we had meeting with some people that understood us, they wanted to help us create an environment where we can all party hard and still be safe…after many many hours we came to a deal…
There is a second coming…this is a one time only event, a Reunion of sorts, plus it’s Jeffrey Paradise’s birthday at the new and improved Kelly’s Mission Rock.
BLOW UP is, was, and always will be a team. Whether you came by yourself, with one friend, or had 100’s of friends there, we were all a part of something bigger and that feeling of togetherness is something that will never completely die.
In the history of our lives, there are only a few times when a team can join together and be a part of something bigger than ourselves. The energy, the love, the enthusiasm which we all bring, is the only limits to the adventures, joys, romantic mishaps, incredible stories, incriminating photos, unbelievable memories, etc that we can share together — and the glow from that fire can make our lives just a little brighter.
BLOW UP is not any one person’s party, it is all of our party, Jeffrey + Ava can present it, Richie can bring it, but it is everyones attitude and spirit that makes this so special. If we can work together and build this back together. Then we make this a special place again.
